Its a new year, and time for a new edition of Are We There Yet? A feminist inspired publication. This year the theme is Rethink, Relearn, Resist. We encourage you to creatively challenge and contemplate resistance, from everyday acts to outrageous rebellions.

The Women’s Studies Student Association will be selling lemonade and delicious homemade desserts to raise money to buy our new student feminist blog, Feminist Juice and for our upcoming 3rd edition of our publication Are We There Yet?

Stop by our lemonade stand, located in the CAW Student Centre on Wednesday November 30th from 11am to 4pm. 

We will be revealing the theme for this years edition of Are We There Yet? on December 1st.

2011 Take Back the Night

The city of Windsor is called into action in a march to end violence against women and children in the annual Take Back the Night march which will take place on October 22nd, 2011.

Take Back the Night marches can be traced globally, having originated in the United States in 1975. The significance of these marches is the women-only presence, making the marches symbolic of women’s voices and physical presence in the street at night. It allows for their voices to be heard publicly, to raise awareness on sexual violence, and to support survivors in their healing process.

Men are asked to show their support by participating in the rally but not to march. People of all ages, races, religions, backgrounds and genders are welcome to attend this free event and join us as we work toward a violence-free world

Stitch ‘n bitch is Back!

After a summer hiatus, stitch n bitch is back, and just in time for the cold winter months! The first stich n bitch of the year will happen on Monday, October 3rd at 7pm in the Green Bean Cafe. 

Stitch n bitch meetings will happen the first Monday of every month at 7pm in the Green Bean Cafe.

Knitting needs and yarn will be provided if needed. Any type of crafting is welcome.

Are We There Yet? Launch Party!

Come celebrate the launch of Sisterhood, the second volume of our annual publication Are We There Yet?

The celebration will take place on Wednesday March 23rd, starting at 7:30 pm at Phog Lounge. We will be selling copies of Are We There Yet?: Sisterhood edition for 5 dollars. Admission is free, however donations will be accepted.
